About the property

Hi, Everyone. We have one room in a three-bedroom house available for July! We are looking for someone friendly and like-minded to move into our beautiful little home on Willow St, and preferably someone looking to stay in the area, as we’ve recently had some shorter term roomies that were just passing through. Rent is 727 a month plus utilities, but may increase in September. We are on oil heat, so with fills, the utilities fluctuate a little. That being said, we are an energy conscious bunch and like to be moderate and environmentally conscious with our usage. We are also an LGBTQIA2S+ 🏡 The house is unfortunately only accessible via stairs (no ramp), but includes, a front lawn, a sheltered and fair sized front porch, a very lush, green, and secluded backyard with lots of diverse vegetation, a big deck, an unfinished basement with ample storage space, a living room equipped with double red light sconces above the fireplace (wowow), a terrarium housing a Leopard Gecko named Anoka, an aquarium of tropical fish, and a gentle and inquisitive Tuxedo cat named Callie. We also love to fill the home with plants, so bring em if you got em. 🌱 I’m Emily Beattie (she/they), 37, I am working full-time this summer, but a student come fall! I am a neurodivergent person who likes to travel, currently do so for work and I also travel to see my family in Ontario and for hobbies. My hobbies are all over the place from dance class to d&d and my schedule reflects that. I am currently the primary caretaker for our 13 year old cat. She’s a sweet tuxedo cat. Also important to note I have a scent sensitivity. Folks who wear perfume/cologne won’t be an ideal fit for our home. Little check ins /TXT messages about the use of cleaning products or essential oils is important and so greatly appreciated! 🦌 I’m Chris Rayner (any/all), 39. I work in architectural engineering full time and produces music, animates and video editing in what-ever free time I have, and though I record in the home, the majority of my work is done in headphones. There may be on rare occasions band practices during the run up to a live performance but I am usually pretty respectful around communicating when and if they work with other folks schedules. The house is not a “jam” house and most of the time we prefer a quiet and chill space. 🎹 Chris likes to cook yummy food (meat is consumed in this household) Emily is trying (lol) and we both like to lead healthy and active lifestyles, as such the energy of the house resembles that. We love to have lively and fun chats in the common areas, and share meals from time to time, but for the most part our home is a chill and quiet space, not a party house. That being said, occasional small gatherings and meals with friends can be nice every once in a while. Chris is an avid cyclist, so bring your bike and let’s go for a rip. Emily likes to climb and hoop if that is more your style. 🚲 We are fairly clean and try to have a clean as you go mentality to keep the common areas usable for others, and share the cleaning and tidying tasks of the household. We are both fairly mature folks and good at communicating how we are feeling regarding the home dynamic and generally around things going on in our lives. As such we are looking for someone like-minded and in a similar place and strongly value communication. 🌈 Our current roommate is happy to serve as a character reference if looking for insider information on how it is to live with us at Willow, and they are willing to answer any questions folks may have about what it’s like to live with us. We’d prefer fem or non-binary folk, but wouldn’t turn anyone away if they seemed like the right fit. 🦎 Do consider sending us a message to set up an interview if:

-You have a desire to get your hands dirty and grow plants in a garden -You are excited about having a yard to do activities in and tend to -You Love Animals! -You are communicative and considerate of others -You want to co-create this home into a safe and cozy place for yourself and for everybody -You Live a quieter lifestyle, particularly during the week

I found the site to be clear of scams which is very much appreciated since there's so much garbage out there on the web.
