About the room
This spacious home is conveniently located near Hillside Mall, downtown Victoria, Royal Jubilee Hospital, parks, the Oak Bay Recreation Centre, major bus routes, and more! It’s situated on a dead-end street with ample street parking. Plus, there’s a tennis court, basketball court, hockey court, and Oaklands Park right next door!
Upstairs, there are two bedrooms that we rent out, both beside a shared bathroom. Downstairs, there are two more bedrooms, also with a shared bathroom. All rooms are fully furnished with a bed, desk and chair, dresser with mirror, bedside table and lamp, and a closet. Rent is per room, and pictures will show available rooms.
The shared laundry room downstairs has a washer and dryer. Upstairs, there’s a large shared kitchen and dining room.
The shared kitchen is stocked with cooking utensils, cutlery, plates and bowls, glasses and mugs, pots and pans, bake trays, food storage containers, a toaster, rice cooker, kettle, and air fryer. There’s also a double stove and fridge. Renters must clearly label any food kept in the fridge or kitchen.
All renters are expected to respectfully share the common areas of the house. They must keep these areas clean and ready for the next person.
If you’re interested, we’ll arrange a meeting to view the room and house, and meet the home occupants. If you’d like to rent the room, you’ll need to bring your damage deposit and first month’s rent before moving in.
Small, house-trained, well-behaved dogs may be accepted with a pet deposit, provided the home occupants agree.
About the roomies
This is a Filipino Canadian family home, currently occupied by the homeowner, Stella (also known as Bhing), and her son, Alan. Stella is in senior health care, while Alan is self-employed and part of the LGBTQ+ community.
My name is Queenie, and I’m the homeowner’s daughter. I live down the road and created this profile to help my mom find renters for the rooms she rents out. I’ll also assist with interviewing potential renters when initial meetings are scheduled.
Our family has been renting rooms and hosting international students since 1998, so we’re very familiar with and happy to welcome new people into our home.
Please note that the homeowner’s son has a small dog, so renters must be okay with dogs.
