Plus, the room comes equipped with a double bed, night stand, dresser, sit-to-stand desk and external monitor—you’re all set up for work or study! The House & Perks Our 2 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom, 1500sq ft home is tucked away in the middle of the block, offering a quiet escape. You’ll enjoy: A beautifully decorated mid-century modern big, bright, and spacious living area full of plants. Lots of big windows, high ceilings, and a view of Mt. Tolmie East facing, the sunrises are absolutely delightful. A fully equipped kitchen (yes, there’s a dishwasher!). Your own dedicated fridge. A big beautiful deck with lovely flower boxes. In house laundry and some storage downstairs. Air Conditioning Parking available for 1 vehicle or there are several Evo’s in the area. The Details: Dates: July 1st - Aug 22 Rent: $1350/month + internet, hydro, monthly cleaner (pro-rated for August). Damage Deposit: $500 to secure the place, returned within 1 week of leaving. Who you are… We are looking for a lovely respectful professional person in their late 30’s to early 50’s who already knows how to run a house and is interested in being collaborative with cleaning and chores. If you enjoy sharing a meal from time to time that will be lovely but we will mostly be doing our own thing for food. Ideally you are someone who is both sociable but also understanding of the need for some quiet time. If you like to go on walks, Cookie loves to go on the 45 minute loop around the golf course and is always looking for a walking buddy. The house & kitchen are fully equipped and so all you need to bring are your personal items. Neurodiverse, Queer, and Gender Diverse friendly home. You are welcome to have visitors over or spend the night. Perhaps you would be open to feeding the kitties when Cookie is out of town. Sorry we are not able to accept any other pets. The Vibe & Roommate You’ll be sharing the home with Cookie, who loves gardening, hosting friends for meals, having fun and introspective conversations. Cookie is a queer 40 year old Registered Nurse & Registered Clinical Counsellor. She likes to live a healthy and active lifestyle just as much as lounging around in the home with the cats and plants. She is a delightful combination of introversion and extraversion enjoying both connection time and solo time to recharge. Part of the Burner community; she loves art, weird and wonderful things, to play, and radical self-reliance. She has a very memorable laugh you can hear a mile away. Cookie has a preference for direct communicators and people who like to be communicated with in loving yet direct ways. We’ve got two indoor cats (Bowie and Tuna) who run the show—sometimes they’re feeling regal, sometimes they’re hiding under the bed. It’s a very chill, cozy home. We love visitors, and we keep the place tidy (but we aren’t fastidious about cleaning) and peaceful—especially during the work week while Cookie is working from home. We generally wind down between 10-11 pm and start our mornings between 6-9 am.
