I am currently on the lookout for the perfect living arrangement for my 19-year-old son. He is high-functioning autistic, fully verbal, and quite self-sufficient.

Currently, my son receives support from the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), which covers his monthly lodging expenses. Although he is actively searching for employment, he has yet to secure a job. However, ODSP offers the convenience of direct payments to his landlord each month, ensuring there are no concerns about rent payments. To further ease any potential concerns, I am more than willing to co-sign any lease agreements.

My son craves independence, and we are in search of the right living situation for him. Ideally, we are looking for one or two roommates to share a space in the $600-800 range per month, inclusive of utilities and wifi. Locations such as Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa, Courtice, and Bowmanville are all under consideration, with Oshawa or Courtice being preferred locations. The room can be furnished or unfurnished, depending on availability.
