Description
Hi there, My name is Melissa, and I’m a 26-year-old mature student starting the Veterinary Technology program at Douglas College this fall. I have a strong passion for animals, which is reflected in both my studies and volunteer work. I currently volunteer with the Pacific Assistance Dogs Society (PADS) as a puppy raiser, helping train service dogs for individuals with disabilities. I live with one of these service puppies in training, who is very well-behaved and follows strict rules, including no free-roaming indoors, no furniture access, no fetch, and being kenneled at night or when left alone.
Finding a place that welcomes both me and my service puppy is incredibly important, and I’m committed to maintaining a respectful, clean, and quiet living environment. I’ve been living independently since I was 18, and I value tidy shared spaces, clear communication, and mutual respect.
A bit more about me: I was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, and moved to BC to attend UBC after high school. I recently discovered my passion for the veterinary field, which led me to the Vet Tech program at Douglas. I come from a Chinese-Mauritian background—I don’t speak Chinese, but I do speak Mauritian Creole! Outside of school, I’m very active and rarely home. I enjoy bouldering, dancing, spending time with friends, and of course, hanging out with my pup. My friends would describe me as outgoing, respectful, easygoing, and a ray of sunshine.
If you have any questions or need more information, I’d be happy to chat. Thank you so much for considering me as a tenant!
Warmly, Melissa
