Chayce & Miles

Heyo, all! My name’s Chayce, and the pictured pup is Kiseki.

❓ I’m seeking 1+ roomate(s) to search with my friend (Miles, who also has a profile here) for affordable enough, pet-friendly housing in North Vancouver. Ideally, with others who can also afford at least $1000 or more per bedroom. I come with loads of fantastic references, as does my dog.

📅 My moving date is flexible, but I do need to give 30 calendar-days notice; so, October 1st - November 1st works for me.

🏡 I need somewhere that has access to a backyard for pet and personal use. This means “no” to apartments, but “yes” to suites, houses, or partial houses.

🐕🧍‍♂️ I’m a queer, white/settler, guy with disabilities (he/him) in my mid-thirties. I’m the guardian to an 8-year-old dog named Kiseki, a neutered Shikoku Inu of about 45lbs (medium size).

💚 Primary passions of mine include music (digital production/general listening), video gaming, gardening, sketching, reading, coffee & baked goods, and advocacy for human & animal rights. Going on hikes with Kiseki and appreciating the natural world (particularly birds!) is an easy way for me to find joy; however, I admit that due to chronic health junk: I can be a sleepy, quiet hermit, otherwise.

💪 That doesn’t mean I’m averse to socializing, though! I’m up for chatting, body-doubling, or even going to events in the lower mainland together… when my body allows.

🗣️ I’ve lived with others in a variety of instances throughout my life: friends, partners, roommates, and a large collective (including Miles). Considering this, I have experience with loads of communication styles. I prefer to be direct as possible, as soon as possible, within any boundaries that may have already been hashed out between myself and the other person(s).

📑Lastly, some roommate-logistics & bonuses:

• I can’t drive/don’t own a car. More parking space for you, if you do!

• I come with some kitchen appliances, dishes, a couch, a TV, a toilet bidet, gardening gear, books, and video games to share.

• I’m covid/infectious-disease-conscious. Doing what I can to prevent any spread is important to me.

• I’m vegan, but don’t push it on others. If you eat/live with animal products, that’s fine! Kiseki isn’t vegan, and he’s lived with me his whole life. 😝

• Kiseki can be wary of new dogs, people, and things. Many have described him as “much more cat-like than dog-like.” He’s lived with a couple different dogs in the past without issue, after gradual introduction. He’d love a furry wrestling/zoomie partner, once acclimated!
