Description
Hello!
My name is Francisco and I’m representing a group of students at Langara College for the Social Service Worker program.
Our team of students has been given the task of finding housing for a hypothetical client. We have been instructed to find real, market housing and to ask the landlord to consider our hypothetical client as an acceptable tenant. We saw your ad and were hoping to know, given the tenant profile provided below, would you be willing to rent your unit to them? You can answer “yes” or “no”, that’s all.
Here is our hypothetical client:
Name: Zeus Constantine (Mr. C).
Gender: Male
Age: 75 yrs
Nationality/Status: Greek Canadian
Description: The client has been taking dialysis treatment for the last 5 years, being the main reason to develop a chronic limp. A former cook and long-standing member of the Greek community, he now lives alone. Despite declining health and housing insecurity, Mr. C remains closely connected to his church and community and is seeking stable, accessible housing that supports his health, dignity, and quality of life.
Financial situation: The client relies exclusively on federal and provincial programs for assistance, getting enough to pay his bills, including renting.
Their concerns: The client has a chronic limp which seriously limits his mobility. He is concerned with the property accessibility. With a fixed and limited income from public benefits, Mr. C would like to sign a long term contract, having no preoccupations in moving out soon. Lastly, the client concerns that the unit should be safe, quiet, and appropriate for an older adult with health limitations, including adequate heating, lighting, and space to move safely with a walker.
Why he is contacting you through a social worker: Due to his age, mobility limitations, and ongoing medical treatments, which make it challenging to manage the housing search independently. The social worker supports communication and helps ensure the housing is accessible, appropriate, and sustainable given Mr. C’s health and income situation.
Willing to sign a lease and duration: 2 years
Thank you for your time and we appreciate your consideration and response,
Have a great day!
