Looking to find other(s) to share a long-term character house/bungalow with yard and garage, after being rent-increased/flipped out of my last 2 house rentals since 2023 (previous long-terms were 11 years + 8 years), OR a shorter-term ‘with just some suitcases’ while I keep hunting (anywhere from 3 mo. - 1 year). I’m an artist & NPO arts admin, avid gardener, vegetarian but fine with meat-eaters; fave pasttimes are arts/music festivals and sitting around a back-yard campfire with good tunes (have canopy, a firepit and other yard essentials in storage); I like cooking, I cycle (don’t drive but have 2 bikes), am clean, courteous, and energy-conscious. I’m in Calgary until the end of May2026 but expect to be back in Edmonton in June to start looking for places in person. I’m paying high storage fees so have only a small budget for ‘just a room’ (no more than $500 if I’m coming with just a few suitcases) but I can commit up to $800 to equally share a whole ‘empty’ house with others, that allows me to get my stuff out of storage. I’m also open to cost-sharing my storage space until we can find a bigger house. Not interested in apartments or subdivided houses with no control over utilities, or slumlords. I really need a yard/nature and enough space for small studio/storage to be productive/functional. TIA.
