I am 76, widowed, retired and living on pension. The place I am renting now is becoming more and more unaffordable - to the point where another increase in rent will mean I will not be able to afford it. I will have to give 2 months notice when I find a place to move to. I am open to many areas – probably too many to list here. Currently I am 5 hours from where my daughter lives and would love to reduce that to 2 or 3 hours. I was initially looking for a room. However I realized that would mean having to put most of my stuff in storage – which would mean an extra cost. I am thinking it makes more sense to find a compatible person to team up with – male or female. We could find a 2-bedroom place together and be able to use whatever furniture we have. And there should be no need for putting things in storage. I have osteoarthritis which means I have difficulty with stairs. Therefore a place with minimal stairs - only 3 or 4 to get inside and none inside – would be ideal. And laundry in the unit preferably or at least on the same floor would be best. I am hoping to be able to afford to adopt an older rescue dog again after I’ve moved. I have allergies - allergic to dogs with fur and to cats – I have always adopted dogs with hair. Therefore no allergies and as a bonus minimal shedding. I would never expect my housemate/roommate to care for any dog I have. I am quiet, definitely not a party person and easy going. When I listen to music it would be with headphones. I would not have many visitors – mostly my daughter once or twice per year. Also I am a fairly good cook and I really do enjoy baking, however baking for 1 is not all that much fun. I also have a car. And I do smoke - outside only - and not all that much. Not sure what else to put here so if you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
