Description
Hi, my name is Raksha. I am a 23 y/o trans woman and I also define my sexuality as demisexual and queer. 4th year BA Music at Carleton with one semester left, on ODSP, working part-time as a server for a local catering company (but on personal leave for right now). I’m about a year into my medical transition and have not really received a whole ton of support so I’m really trying to find a safe space that I can just prioritize healing and growth. I’m Indo-Trinidadian, second-gen, grew up in a very chaotic and hyperreligious household (which is where I’ve been staying for the summer). I moved out when I was 19 into a house in the South End with four other roommates, who all had animals (which was great by me), and then moved again when I was 22 into Centretown with one roommate. I’d prefer to live somewhere that’d only take one bus/train to get to Carleton. I smoke cigarettes but can quit if necessary. I’d really prefer to live with other POC’s but have no problem with anti-racist white people. I don’t really have many accessibility needs, would prefer to also live with neurodivergent folk; I need clear boundaries and direct communication. I don’t mind dishes or garbage and don’t need any accommodations in these areas other than communication about expectations for chores. I would love to live with other trans folk, as well. I’d like to find a place ASAP, earliest move-in probably July 1st, and latest by Sept 1st, my budget is ideally $850 but I’ve pushed it before to make it work so just lmk.
