🏡 Looking for a Room (or the right roommate!) – September 1
Hi everyone! 👋
My name is Shaniqua. I’m 33, originally from Ontario, and I’m looking for a room to rent (or possibly joining someone who already has plans to get a place together).
I’m not looking to start a rental search from scratch with someone, but if you already have something in motion, I’d definitely be open to chatting.
I’m hoping to find a home in West Vancouver, North Vancouver, Port Moody, or another peaceful area with a similar vibe. I’m leaving Maple Ridge because I’m looking for a quieter lifestyle. I love natural light, so I’d prefer not to live in a basement suite.
A little about me…
✨ I work at a brewery while building my digital creator business. 🐶 I have a 3-year-old Boston Terrier named Louie, who has been with me since he was 6 weeks old. He’s family, so whoever I live with needs to genuinely like and respect dogs. 🧘🏻♀️ I love yoga, pole fitness, long walks, cooking, decorating, travelling, and working toward my goals. 🧹 I’m incredibly clean (honestly… probably cleaner than most 😂). I actually enjoy cleaning, and I’d even be happy to take care of the shared spaces every week if it meant making life easier for both of us—or even working something out on rent.
I’m looking for someone who: • Is mature (around my age or simply emotionally mature) • Is working and has goals they’re excited about • Respects that home should feel peaceful and safe • Doesn’t party or regularly host people • Is okay with open communication and mutual respect
I’d actually love to be friends with my roommate. Nothing forced—but maybe grabbing coffee, having the occasional dinner together, checking in once a month to make sure we’re both happy, or even becoming travel buddies someday. Life’s hard enough without living with someone who feels like a stranger.
I also love cooking and would happily cook for both of us sometimes if that’s something we’d enjoy. If you don’t drive, grocery runs aren’t a problem either.
A few must-haves: ✔️ Parking ✔️ Dog friendly ✔️ No couples ✔️ No kids ✔️ Respect for each other’s space, schedules, and home
I’m not in a rush. If I don’t find the right fit, I’ll happily stay in Airbnbs until I do. I’d much rather meet for a coffee first and make sure we genuinely get along before making any decisions. I’m hoping to find someone who values a calm home as much as I do.
If this sounds like you—or you have a room that you think would be a good fit—I’d love to hear from you. Feel free to send me a message with a little about yourself, your place, and what you’re asking for in rent.
Here’s to finding a home that feels like peace. 🤍
