Hi, everyone! My name is Junior, I’m a PhD student in Communication at the University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil, and I’ll be moving to Montreal at the end of September 2026 or the beginning of October 2026 for a research stay at UQAM. I’ll be in Montreal until the end of March 2027. I’m looking for a furnished room in a shared apartment/colocation or, ideally, a small one-bedroom apartment. Ideally, I’d like to stay relatively close to UQAM or in a well-connected area with easy access to public transportation. I’m open to different neighborhoods and housing options, as long as commuting to UQAM is convenient. My budget is around CAD 790–900 per month, including bills. A little about me: I’m from Brazil and I’m currently pursuing my PhD in Communication at USP. During my stay in Montreal, I’ll be working on my doctoral research and developing a comparative study of Canadian/Québécois and Latin American television series at UQAM. I’m organized, clean, respectful, and used to sharing living spaces with other people. I appreciate a calm and comfortable home, but I’m also social and enjoy getting to know new people, having conversations, and sharing experiences with roommates. I’m also really looking forward to improving my French! I already have some knowledge of the language, and one of my goals during my time in Montreal is to practice it in everyday situations and meet people with whom I can speak French. So, if I find a place where I can occasionally practice French with roommates, that would definitely be a plus! In my free time, I enjoy exploring new places, going out, discovering cafés and restaurants, watching series and films, and getting to know the culture and everyday life of a new city. I’m really looking forward to experiencing Montreal beyond the university and meeting people from different backgrounds. I’ll be moving from Brazil, so I’m also open to connecting with other international students, researchers, or people who will be in Montreal during the same period.
