PhD student (28M) seeking room near U of T / TGH, Jan 2027, $1,000-1,600

Hi. I’m Francisco, a 28-year-old PhD student from Spain (currently in Germany), starting research on diabetes and stem cells at U of T / Toronto General in January 2027. I’m tidy, respectful, non-smoking, and keep regular hours (occasionally in the lab on weekends). Outside work I love movies and sports, so I’m happy to watch a game or a film together or share the occasional dinner, while respecting everyone’s privacy and space.

Looking for: a room in a shared apartment or house, $1,000-1,600 CAD/month, move-in early to mid-January (flexible), 12+ months. Location flexible, as long as the commute to TGH/St. George is reasonable.

Lease length: 12 months or longer. I’ll be in Toronto for my PhD for the next several years, so I’m definitely open to a longer-term arrangement if we’re a good fit.

About me: fully funded stipend, funding letter and references available. Since I’m moving from abroad, I’m glad to do video calls and a virtual tour before committing.

Open to teaming up: I’m also happy to team up with someone to look for an apartment together. I’m flexible about the setup as long as the overall cost makes sense.
