Description
Hi, I’m Serp.
I am a volunteer with the Ottawa Trans Library and am working on gathering together trans & enby folx into one or more shared homes of like-minded and mutually supportive roommates. I personally favour large houses with lots of bedrooms for the capacity to majorly reduce per-room costs… and because I like old-build charm with extra nooks and storage spaces, as well as room outside to garden, which frequently comes together with these. :)
If you fall within the trans umbrella and would like to room with others who get it, learn more about the OTL and the wonderful Ottawa trans community, or just get some help in your search, hit me up with a message and introduce yourself!
About me as a room mate: I feel strongly about explicit, respectful communication; I want to live with other people who also want to make sure that conflicts are talked out before they become big problems.
You can expect me to:
- clean up my own messes and participate in keeping common spaces neat and organized
- prefer to have a regular weekly or biweekly meeting time to talk about any household issues or concerns
- be a big-time tabletop gaming & psychology nerd
- go out for long walks quite a lot
- frequently be listening to something through earbuds or headphones
- enjoy the company of plants and animals when available (if you have any pets, I will enjoy watching or making friends with them)
- spend a lot of my time in my room talking with internet friends
- occasionally cook big meals and offer to share them
- worry about whether I’m engaging ‘too much’ or ‘too little’
- live an utterly unconventional (or post-conventional) lifestyle in a variety of ways
- need my space, and an escape from the presence and sounds of others sometimes, but be interested in chatting, playing or doing things together at other times (without a whole lot of ability to predict in advance when I will or won’t be up for social things)
