About the room

Hi all! I’m looking for a roommate for a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, bright half-basement suite close to Commercial Broadway. Rent is $1125 plus around $85 in monthly bills (all per person) and we pay a portion of Hydro every two months (usually $20-40). Half a month’s rent as security deposit. Available May 1st, can be flexible on a later date. Currently one cat here, we could have one more cat but not dog-friendly. Low ceilings (6’6 in most places). In-suite laundry, heated floors in some areas and each room has its own thermostat. The suite was renovated about 2 years ago. Small patio area that gets lots of sun. There are lots of stairs around the property so unfortunately the suite’s not accessible. Landlords live upstairs with two kids under 12 and are all super nice. Landlords require a couple of references. Perfect area for transit and there’s street parking too. Close to bikeways and around 10 mins walk to Trout Lake. Communal areas are furnished. My current roommate will be selling her furniture so that’s an option if you need anything!

About the roomies

You’d be sharing the suite with me and my one cat! I’m 26 and work in catering and events, and as of May my work schedule will be M-F 9-5:30 ish. I do a bit of work from home as well outside of these times. In the spring and summer I try to get outside as much as I can in my spare time. It would be great to have a roommate I can be social with from time to time, but I also definitely need my alone time to recharge. I’m considerate of giving my roommate their personal space too! My cat is a bit skittish, but once she gets to know you she will want all of your attention. As I mentioned, the landlords are a family of four upstairs. There are a lot of kids in the neighbourhood and they can be running around outside the house/yard/alley and are sometimes a bit loud in that way, but there is great soundproofing between the basement and upstairs.
