Update: The room is available for viewing as long as this post is up. Room can come semi furnished (refer to pictures).

Anyways:

I own the house. I am looking for lodgers/roommates.

Since I live there too, I would be the live in landlord/roommate.

The house is a duplex. Street parking is available.

First floor: One shared kitchen, one shared living room, laundry shared room, and bathroom (which goes with the bedroom for this listing).

Second floor: Three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

All bedrooms have a full bathroom to go with them. Everyone in the household including me have our own bedroom and bathroom.

Master bedroom en suite bathroom has a tub. The other two bathrooms have shower stalls. And a toilet and sink of course.

The bedroom for rent in this listing is the master bedroom for 1400/month. It is about 231 ft squared (21.5 m squared) including the en suite bathroom.

Utilities included (hydro, natural gas, internet).

All bedroom doors have lockable key knobs. This bedroom has a bolt lock on the door from the inside.

Small backyard. Property is fenced.

First floor is about 745 ft squared (69 m squared). 606 ft squared (56 m squared) for second floor. Including the backyard, shed, and garage, the total should be about 1400 ft squared (130 m squared).

The bedrooms and bathrooms that goes with the bedrooms for rent are unfurnished (if you decide not to use any of the furnishings the previous lodger left behind). There is also a closet.

The rest of the house is furnished because I live there.

Neighbour’s duplex house is connected to my west wall. Entrance is on north wall. Patio door on east wall. South wall is an alley way where my neighbour walks through to get to their garage.

Located in Hastings Sunrise, East Vancouver near East 1st Avenue and Nanaimo Street.

4. Show and go over agreement papers. Make any changes if necessary to meet what the lodger(s) thinks is more fair. I am telling you now that the agreement paper will be long because of my past experience.
5. Sign papers and receive deposit to reserve the room.
6. Lodger moves in on agreed upon date. I will help with the receiving of furniture if necessary.

Not sure how the pronoun thing is supposed to work but I am straight and I identify myself as a male. I work at a food manufacturing plant full time with some side hustles on the side. Got to make that $$$.

I have been doing this renting bedrooms and bathrooms side hustle since Sept 2021. I have had several lodgers/roommates. 95% of the time, everything is good. The lodgers are all interesting and came from different backgrounds. Here is my resume on who I have rented to so far:

• someone from Russia who worked in landscaping
• someone from Toronto who worked at night clubs
• someone from Nova Scotia who was studying make up for film at VFS
• someone from South Korea who was doing phD at SFU with something related to physiotherapy
• someone from South Korea who was at Sprott Shaw College who is going into healthcare
• someone from China who was studying early childhood education
• someone from Brazil who is studying something to do with filming (current lodger in the other bedroom)
• someone from France who studied digital marketing

I got a mortgage on the house so I am not living there for “free” either.

Hobbies: Piano, boxing, reading, watching movies, hustling, etc.

What I am bad at: Skiing (can’t stop while in motion no matter how hard I try), parallel parking (I am better at stall parking though), going up steps (Grouse Grind and the Chief killed me).

Dislikes: Durian (yuck), stinky tofu (yuck), blue cheese (yuck)

Alice. 21. She is studying something to do with filming. I forget. She works part time at a Greek restaurant. She can’t eat spicy food because she is “weak”. She likes to make movies and do aerial silks.
