Run Down House's room

One room for rent in a very old, very dilapidated house at Dundas and Bathurst. The place is in really, really rough shape. We keep it clean, but it’s literally falling apart. It looks a bit like the inside of the house in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. It’s not for everyone.

The room is on the second floor, 110 square feet, 9 foot ceiling. Large, west-facing window that gets a lot of sunlight. Small closet, hardwood floors, lock on the door.

You’ll be sharing the house with two other people and a big dumb ginger cat. The cat is very sweet and he loves everyone, but he’s also loud and annoying. He sheds like crazy no matter how often he’s brushed.

There’s a back yard, a kitchen, a front porch, one shared washroom, and a living room. There’s a fair amount of space here. With three housemates, the bills range from around $50/month each person in the summer to around $120 a month each person in the coldest part of winter. No laundry, but there’s two laundromats within 4-5 minutes walk.

Here’s a long list of requirements for prospective housemates - you’re employed. You pay rent on time, every time. You pay bills on time. You don’t party at the house. Feel free to smoke on the front porch or in the back yard, but no smoking in the house, ever. No incense, no smudge, none of it. Not in your room with the window open, not when you’re drunk, never. That includes weed. Speaking of drugs, if you have any substance abuse issues, this isn’t the place for you. You clean up after yourself. You do your dishes the same day you use them. You contribute to cleaning the house once in a while. You replace condiments you use.

No crazy people. No passive-aggressive people. No deadbeats. No creeps. Should go without saying, but no racist or sexist horseshit. At the same time, this house isn’t twitter or a university campus, so no pearl-clutching word-police, either (the cat is body-shamed without relent, and we say bad words). Just generally be nice. Or be really grumpy, who cares, just don’t be a weird asshole who makes the house weird.

One male housemate one female housemate. We’re friendly, but we do our own thing. Mostly 9-5, so no musicians or partying.
