Hello roommate,

Located in Crescent Heights, you will be in a central location just across the Bow River from downtown Calgary. You will also be close to SAIT, and we are not far from the UofC, making it a perfect location if you’re a student. It is easy to get a permit to park on the street, and there is room to store your bike in the building. The shared laundry is cheap, not often in use, and on the same floor. The monthly rent includes all your utilities, including fiber optic highspeed internet. You’ll also have access to my SmartTV in the shared living room. The kitchen is stocked with a microwave, a toaster oven, an oven, fridge & freezer, basic cook wear, dishes, and you’re free to use my rice cooker and instapot when they are available. The only noticeable thing lacking is a dishwasher, but there are plenty of affordable restaurants nearby to order from or dine in when you want to skip the dishes. The bathroom is easy to keep clean. I don’t have problems with pulling hot water or getting good water pressure from the shower and tub, and there is room for your toiletries in either of the cabinets above the sink. I can make room for some of your linens in the linen closet. Your room is carpeted, it has a full-sized window, a closet, it is radiator heated, and it comes with a chair (optional), door hanger, and a garbage can, because I like to keep a clean place. Your room is available as soon as January 1st provided I have a damage deposit of $775 on top of the monthly rate of the same amount (deducted based on what time of the month you move in if its later than the 1st), some references to verify you have a steady income and are a reliable tenant, and we conduct an in-person interview/showing to decide if we think we can be good roommates. During our interview/showing we will also go through the rental agreement, and I’ll want to have an idea of how long you will be renting. I’m an independent guy who likes to stay active but can also be caught vegetating in my room or watching movies when I have downtime. I’m usually busy working or going to Jiu-jitsu when I’m not cooking or visiting with friends and family. I’m very orderly but I like to think–not obsessively, meaning I’m okay with a mess as long as there’s method to the madness. Having said that I like to keep clean. I’m not a dirty person and I don’t keep a dirty place so I expect the same of my roommates. We can get along great and maybe even become friends if we’re quick to take ownership of the things we let slide and act appropriately. There’s not enough time in the day as it is so there’s no need to waste it by being passive aggressive with each other. Lets be open, honest, and assertive, not take anything personally, and keep in mind we’re both just trying to maintain a good living arrangement.
