Unit: Roommate (No sharing, only single occupancy) wanted. A furnished room for rent in a furnished 958 square ft spacious 2 bhk 1.5 bath apartment with a huge living room, dining room and balcony. Gender no bar. I have my private washroom but the bathing area in the common washroom would be utilized by both. So technically you will have your own private washroom as well.

Preferred someone who is not home during the day as I work from home. But it is not a deal breaker.

Available Date: June 1st, 2023

Price: $1175 (includes utilities. Hydro, home insur extra).

Location: 24 Mabelle Ave. Very accessible to downtown. 10-15 mins drive to DT. TTC stop operates within the complex, right next to the building.

Rental Terms: Off-lease roommate – Rent will be paid to myself. There will be a written roommate agreement. This is not covered by the RTA. Month to month, no fixed term but 6+ months preferred. Can be changed to on-lease agreement once we get along or are sure about our long-term agreement.

Looking for someone whose interest in cooking non-vegetarian dishes is limited to chicken. Sea food is a hard no.

Price includes all utilities minus hydro and house insurance. I am mostly working from home on zoom meetings. So, I would prefer someone who is out of the house during most weekdays. But this is not a make or break for me.

I’m a funny, intelligent, and empathetic person. My values are connection, curiosity and lightheartedness. I’d describe myself as an ambivert: I get bursts of social energy but also burn myself out and need some alone time to recharge.

I often eat eggs and chicken which can be a problem for a few folks. So, a heads up.

The ideal roommate relationship will be more casual or might grab a beer for both every other evening. I’m typically very busy and I like to keep to myself/do my own thing, but I’m obviously very friendly and open to chat. Boundaries are important to me, as is mutual respect and equality in a roommate relationship. Communication is key.
