About the room
One bedroom available in a big, bright, beautiful two-bedroom apartment – shared with one other person. Apartment has two bedrooms, two bathrooms AND two balconies across two floors.
AVAILABLE ROOM The available bedroom is the master bedroom with ensuite bathroom. The room has a big north facing window and large closet. The ensuite bathroom has a tub+shower combo. Room is unfurnished and located on the lower floor of the apartment so has lots of privacy.
APARTMENT One of the most spacious apartments you will find in Vancouver. Big windows and high ceilings, in-unit laundry, and a large kitchen and living area. Best of all, the apartment has TWO large balconies (perfect for patio gardening!). The common spaces in the apartment are already furnished!
Unfortunately, the unit is not wheelchair accessible as the apartment is 2.5 floors and there are stairs inside the unit.
There is a secure parking space and bike rack as well that comes with the unit.
AREA Kingsway/Renfrew-Collingwood is a vibrant and very safe area. The area is packed with restaurants and cafes and shops. It is one of the most convenient and walk-able places to live. There is a Safeway grocery store a five-minute walk away, and several small independent grocers/produce stores nearby. London Drugs is also a quick walk. There are multiple yoga studios in the neighbourhood and we are located a short transit ride or 20 minute walk to Metrotown Mall.
Central Park with forested trails, a running track, public outdoor swimming pool, tennis, and beautiful picnic areas is down the street, and Aberdeen park is also a short walk away.
Joyce Collingwood Skytrain Station is a 10-minute walk, and Patterson Skytrain Station is a 15-minute walk away. We are also located directly on the #19 bus line that connects through mount pleasant and goes all the way to Stanley Park – we are also a short walk to the R4 bus that goes to UBC.
SUBLEASE Currently the rent for the available room is 1200 per month + ½ of the utilities and internet. This is a sublet until August 31st. However, there is likely possibility to renew and I would love to find a long-term roommate.
Lease start is May 1st, however, there may be a possibility of an earlier move-in date if needed (potentially as early as March 1st).
No smoking indoors, and (sadly) no pets.
As the other roommate works from home during the day, they are ideally seeking a roommate who does not also work from home full time. No couples.
About the roomies
ROOMMATE
The upstairs bedroom is leased by one other person (she/her, LGBTQ+, mid 30s, full time PhD student). I primarily work from home, so I prefer to keep a quiet work-friendly space during the weekdays.
I love cooking, biking, gardening, roller skating, making pottery, taking care of my many house-plants, and binging reality tv. I am friendly and outgoing, but also a chronically sleepy homebody! I like to be as eco-friendly as possible and prefer to keep a more minimalist and decluttered space. I enjoy keeping my home environment clean, cozy, and relaxing. I am sober 10 years and prefer to live with folks who are not big drinkers or partiers.
I am looking for a roommate, ideally in their 30s, who has a similar quiet chill lifestyle and is LGBTQ+ friendly. As I work from home during the weekdays, I prefer if my roommate does not also work from home full time. Female or non-binary person preferred. No couples.
