Feeling out the option/demand to let go of my amazing clean and renovated private room and basement in a shared girls student roommate house. The room is very large with a big walk-in size closet and a full finished basement with your own half bath (toilet and sink) (the shower on the main floor and upstairs is shared for showering). The washer/dryer is also in the basement so other roommates come down when using laundry but that’s about it. All utilities (water, heat, hydro), wifi, parking and use of laundry and all common living spaces included in price of $850/month. Personal mini fridge in basement and shared large chest freezer with other roommates. The full kitchen and living room on the main floor is shared with other roommates. Large 5-car driveway so you will have your own parking spot if you have a car. Large fenced backyard and a small shed in backyard for additional storage. The basement is currently furnished with couch and lots of decor/game-type area but can remove all this if wanted. Just the desk I’d be taking with me. In the bedroom I’d take all my stuff but could leave the queen size bed frame (with great under bed storage) and I could leave the large dresser as well. The living room and kicthen are fully furnished and equipped. All you’d really need is a mattress and any furniture you want in the bedroom. The house is pet-free. I’m a doctorate in pharmacy student going into my third year of study next year and I spent my first two years of study living here with 4 other girl students in this large 5 bed 3 bath house. It’s in an excellent location just southwest of Polo Park in a small mostly retired family community. In the two years living here we’ve had zero situations with and homeless encounters or theft. Everyone gets along very well and we’ve never had any fights or problems and everyone keeps to themselves and are always gone at school, studying or working (everyone is really devoted to their studies in high demand programs like pharmacy, nursing and engineering and this house is in no way a party or drinking home - we go out to a bar together maybe once or twice a year on rare occasions and there is rarely guests at the house although they are allowed as long as you are being respectful of others space). Some of the girls like to be in bed around 10pm so we usually try to have quiet time after 10pm during the week (no laundry or loud noise after 10). The house is also very quiet on weekends because most of the girls grew up out of Winnipeg and drive home to see their family on weekends (usually one or two girls that stays on the weekends). The only reason I’m thinking of giving up my place is because I’m currently working lots of night shifts (sometimes 3 weeks a month) and I find with full time studies I’m never at the house much and may sign onto my boyfriends lease to stay with him instead on the few days a month I’m not at work or visiting family.
