About the room
[Sorry the photos of the room were taken when the room was occupied.] Looking for a responsible and respectful housemate. This is a shared space with a fully furnished bedroom for you. The room includes a queen-size bed, a good desk and a lot of storage space. The house has a heat pump and high-speed fiber internet (in case you are working from home, it is perfect!). It would be a good place also for a retired person or anybody else as long as we share the basic same values of a simple life. The shared space includes kitchen, laundry, living rooms, back porch, front patio and a 1-acre yard/orchard/vegetable garden, plus lots of storage space. There is also a piano in the living room. All of that will be shared by 2 people including you, plus occasionally my son when he comes for a visit. I also have an 11-year-old dog. Someone who enjoys living with others, is able to communicate openly and positively, and cares about our community and our planet would be a good fit. If you like gardening and want to grow your own vegetables, it is the perfect place for you. I am vegetarian (my son is not) and I do prefer a vegetarian housemate (or at least low consumer of animal products). No excess of alcohol. No smoking. There is a place in the carport for your car (as well as charge point if you have an electric car). More space is also available to store a camper trailer or RV on the 1-acre property (for extra money). And space for your bike/kayak/canoe or storage place in the garage. There is a studio/shop space in a separate building for extra money also. There are buses going to Nanaimo: #78 from our street, #70 with a bus stop at about 2km (it travels from Nanaimo to Duncan) References, and damage deposit required. The room is available January 1st and will stay vacant until a suitable person is found.
About the roomies
I am 60 years old. I am vegetarian and I care a lot for the environment. Iβd prefer a vegetarian housemate. My 20 year old son comes home during holidays. I like gardening and outdoor activities. I also practice mindfulness meditation. I enjoy living with others.
