About the room

We are seeking an easy-going, queer-friendly, low/scent-free roommate able to pay $800/month inclusive to join our household long-term (12+ months) starting April 1st.

Who you are You are a quiet, easy-going person who is, or is at least friendly to us being, queer, trans, polyamorous and are at least 25 years old. You are neat but not necessarily overly so. Ideally you would have minimal furniture, but this is somewhat negotiable.

Non-negotiables · Rent is paid by the 1st of each month (can be done in installments if needed). · In general, scented products are used at a minimum. · Specifically, no scented products are to be used in the washer or the dryer (e.g. Tide detergent, Bounce dryer sheets, etc.)

Living situation We live in a semi-attached house on a residential street in the general Stockyards area (Old Weston / Rogers Road). The 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom house is well-lit with a kitchen, living room, finished basement, backyard, and garage.

The amenities include: · All utilities including air conditioning, fast Internet · Washer / dryer · Kitchen with dishwasher, gas stove, air purifier, various appliances · Backyard (concrete only) with deck, patio furniture, BBQ · Hardwood floors throughout · Storage in room, house and garage

On-street parking is available with a permit from the city. The garage can be used for storage however the parking space is used by J for their vehicle.

There is a surprising amount of transit options in the area including the 41/941, 47, 127, 161, 168 and the 512 St. Clair LRT (streetcar). There are several direct routes to subway stations/transit hubs including Dundas West/UP express (168), Lansdowne (47), Ossington (161), St. Clair West and St. Clair (512).

We are well situated. Within a twenty-minute walk is a library (St. Clair / Silverthorn), large park/community centre (Earlscourt), two large grocery stores (Ample, Nations), and a variety of shopping options.

Many houses in the area fly pride flags of various sorts. We have a small one that has been up at the front of the house for years now without issue. Our one immediate neighbour is trans and flew a large trans flag for years.

Your Room The bad news – the room is small (81” x 89”) and has no vents. That said, the room does come with storage both in the room and elsewhere in the house. The room itself is in the middle of the house, so the temperature is always reasonable and there is a ceiling fan.

About the roomies

We are two long-term friends that have lived together on and off for about a decade. We are quiet, introverted, laid-back, queer, middle aged, polyamorous, and perhaps with a touch of ADHD, autism. We both have long-term, stable employment.

We have partners that have a variety of allergies, are chemically sensitive, or both – hence the requirements for no/limited scents.
