This is a single bedroom for 1 person to rent, in an older house in the Lendrum area by the Southgate Center. The house is near a bus stop, and a block or so from an LRT station for the Capital Transit Line, giving it access to the university/downtown, a grocery store, and a few pharmacies. Be aware that this does mean some noise from the nearby train crossings. Street parking is available in front of the house, conveniently keeping your vehicle visible from your bedroom.

The room itself is an unfurnished main floor master bedroom, with attached half-bath (toilet & sink); the shower is in the main bathroom and is shared with the other main floor tenant, of which there is only one. Comes with a large hallway closet for additional storage, as shown in the pic. Though our previous tenant found it unnecessary, you will get keys to lock both. The kitchen is similarly shared, but you get your own full-sized fridge. The laundry is at the bottom of the stairs and shared by the household.

Due to previous damage and the landlord’s preference, we CANNOT have animals like cats, dogs, parrots, ferrets, rabbits, &c. on the property, but exceptions may be made for small animals in enclosures (hamster, betta fish, &c.), provided the animal is quiet and properly cared for. We also cannot have any smoking or drugs on the premises, no parties or overnight guests, casual drinking only. Looking for fellow clean, quiet people who respect property and privacy.

We are only posting because our last housemate found a new job that was too far away for even LRT transit time to be reasonable for daily trips, and who will be settled in their new house by the end of April. We would like someone new for the beginning of May, and preferably another long-term person if we get along. Minimum 6 months, with no maximum for a good fit. We would prefer to meet with prospective housemates beforehand in a public place if possible, which is good for both parties.

Listed rent includes utilities + usable wi-fi, price may go down depending on usage. No deposit necessary, but you will be responsible for any damage you cause. A stable income that allows you to pay the listed price is required (AISH counts!).

There are currently 2 people in the house. The first is the other main floor tenant, a retiree that will be spending the day out in the yard/garage for most of the year. The other is a reclusive person in the basement that you are unlikely to see or hear from very often (but posted this ad for you). Both people are quiet hobbyist types; non-smokers, drug-free, no drama, do not get drunk or party, and have no interest in relationships or “adult activities”. We are both very chill and will likely be off doing our own thing, but are friendly and open to hang out and talk, if you want. If you have a handiwork problem, at least one of us will probably be available to help you fix it. If you need furniture, we can try to help you source some.
