About the room
Ground floor of house. Laundry in unit. Covered outdoor area. It’s a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom unit. I am the only other roommate. There is quite a bit of space! Realistically you’ve gotta be on the “above average” side of cleanliness and taking initiative when it comes to household chores and typical cleaning tasks (this is how I am!). Please, there needs to be a strong sense of fairness and reciprocity when it comes to regular chores 💜☺️
I have a defined work schedule from Monday to Friday (I’m out of the house during the daytime). I’m willing to be quite flexible and accommodating when the flexibility goes both ways. I feel like a sense of equality and reciprocity is really important to me in a roommate dynamic. Please be someone who is comfortable with a bit of give-and-take in terms of noise levels, for example I often put on earplugs when napping/sleeping cuz I’d rather “live and let live” (within reason) than micromanage other peoples’ noise levels. Sometimes I make noise during reasonable times of day too. I’m sometimes talking with my boyfriend or watching a movie on laptop late at night on the weekends and that’s something that I feel is quite normal. I think it comes down to self-awareness, having a sense of what is “reasonable”, and understanding common courtesy! Does that make sense? Ask any Qs you have please ☺️
In terms of having people over, I don’t feel like we need to discuss it if either of us are having 1 or maybe 2 people over. Let’s inform each other if we are having more than 1 or 2 people over!!!
Smoking or vaping would need to happen outside please!!!
About the roomies
I’m Emerson, 28 years old, I’m a transgender woman, I’m a math teacher, I’m an electronic musician, I am most comfortable when we can be upfront with our communication. I understand that logistical conversations between roommates are sometimes uncomfortable but I think it’s better for us to be on the same page!
