The cottage is located on Protection Island out in the Nanaimo harbour and as such it is accessible by the Dinghy Dock ferry (reduced fares for residents). The ferry takes 7 minutes across & is the only public transportation. The DD ferry parks down on the docks below the Port Theater & is a very short walk to the bus exchange or the Port Place Mall. It runs hourly from 7am - 10pm in the summer & 8am - 9:30ish pm in the winter. The cottage is a modern, bright, self-contained & winterized building of 400 sq ft which includes its own bathroom, livingroom, small but complete kitchen and small sleeping area. The space is built to a high standard with maple floors, heated tile bathroom, lots of windows, french doors & a skylight, all that look out onto trees and nature. Although it is compact, it is very comfortable & would suit a single, fit person as the cottage is located a 15 min walk (or a short bike ride) from the Dinghy Dock ferry landing.

We are a quiet, couple who live in the adjacent house on the property and who are personable and non intrusive. We appreciate our privacy and will respect yours & as such we follow the local bylaws for noise etc. Sorry, we do not permit smoking of any substances in/or on the property. We would be glad to introduce you to island activities & people who may share common interests with you.
