1 private room in a 2 bedroom basement suite near UBC at Dunbar and 16th Ave

Looking for 1 quiet, clean and responsible tenant for a private room. You would be sharing the suite with just one working adult (myself, 32F).

⭐︎ Price: $1100/month (includes utilities, internet, and free use of laundry) ⭐︎ Move-in Date: June anytime or July 1 ⭐︎ Length of stay: at least 6 months, would prefer someone long-term (i.e. 1 year) ⭐︎ House rules: single occupancy; no smoking/vaping, loud parties, or pets, sorry! Household chores are shared

⭐︎ Room Details: 7’ ceiling, measures 10.5’ x 10’ and has a standard size closet and small window. Has its own thermostat for baseboard heating during cold months! It’s currently unfurnished, but we can supply a queen size mattress and dresser (see pics) ASAP, and/or will help supply other basic furnishings! Just ask and we’ll find what you need :)

⭐︎ Shared space details:

• Shared full bathroom with shower (no bathtub) and tons of cabinet storage space; kitchen with small gas range, toaster oven (no microwave yet), dishwasher, and shared fridge.
• There is a roomy entryway/living room area with a full-size sofa and armchair, a standing pantry for dry food storage, and coat-and-boot rack
• Each room has its own baseboard heater and thermostat. The suite doesn’t have built-in A/C, but I’ve been assured it stays pleasant all summer. If it does get hot, I have a portable A/C unit and a fan, so we’ll be fine! :)
• Laundry is in a utility room next to the suite’s front door. It’s shared with the landlady, but she’s retired and kindly lets us have priority anytime
• The backyard has a lovely garden you can sit out on our mini-patio space to enjoy when the weather’s nice!
• Limited street parking, so it’s best for someone who walks/transits. ⭐︎ Neighbourhood: very convenient and safe, the #33, #25, and #7 bus stops are seconds away– it’s ~10 minutes to Wesbrook Village or ~15 mins to UBC bus loop. Restaurants, cafes, hardware stores, supermarkets, pharmacies, beauty salons, pools, parks… anything you need is right here or within a 5 minute walk or 5 minute bus ride!

The landlady lives alone upstairs: she’s retired, quiet, and maintains the beautiful garden in our back yard herself. She’s an honest, responsible landlady and a wonderful person.

You’d be sharing the suite with just me–and my plants! I’m (32, she/her) a night owl but quiet, and am out working and/or volunteering most days. I’d like to create a relaxing, independent but friendly and neighbourly kind of home :)
