About the room
about the property: The suite is a brand new, legal basement with two bedrooms and one bathroom. The room for rent doesn’t have a built-in closet, but there’s plenty of space to add a wardrobe or storage that suits you. The bathroom is shared, and there’s also one storage closet available that i will most likely add a storage shelf to keep appliances like the air-fryer and toaster, i will also hopefully be utilizing it as a pantry area as well. I’ll be furnishing the common areas nicely, but the bedroom for rent will be unfurnished so you can make it your own. All utilities are included, and laundry will be shared with the landlords upstairs on a schedule to keep things organized. We have a private entrance for added privacy. Street parking is available, though please note it’s a snow route about three times a year, so parking restrictions apply during those times. The landlords live upstairs — they’re lovely people with a dog and a baby, so you might hear some occasional noise, but the suite is well insulated to meet legal requirements. The location is super convenient — there’s a bus stop right at the end of the road with a direct connection to the U of A. Sherwood Park Mall, with Safeway, Starbucks, Indigo, Subway, and more, is just a quick 3-minute drive, 5-minute bike ride, or 20-minute walk away. Move-in is August 1st, but there’s flexibility if you need a different date.
About the roomies
about me: Hey! I’m Em. 21, and I’m moving from Calgary to start flight school this September. I’m looking for an easygoing, respectful roommate who might share some of my interests — like aviation, Taylor Swift, Jellycats, cooking, fashion, and spending time with friends and family. When I’m not in school, I’m usually trying out new recipes, listening to Taylor Swift, or adding to my (definitely growing) Jellycat collection. I’m pretty chill and keep my space clean and cozy. I’m someone who values good vibes and open communication — I think living with a roommate works best when we can be honest and respectful with each other. A heads-up about pets — I have two sweet dogs that I’ll occasionally bring from home to stay for a couple of days at a time. One’s 11, super calm and people-loving, and the other is about 8 months old, adorable but sometimes a little rambunctious. Both are very sweet boys! As per the landlord, smoking of any kind — cigarettes, cannabis, vaping — isn’t allowed, and I don’t do any of these either. I tend to be pretty quiet and keep to myself most of the time, but once I get comfortable with someone, I’m definitely a chatterbox and love a good laugh. Usually, though, I like to keep things calm and often have my headphones in. I like my space clean and always clean up after myself. I’m hoping to find a roommate who’s the same, and that we can split chores and household supplies like toilet paper, paper towels, and cleaners fairly. Since I’m moving here on my own, I’m really hoping to find someone I can not just share a place with, but actually be friends with — someone to hang out with, explore the city, or just chill at home. If this sounds like a good fit, I’d love to connect!
