Semi-Furnished Room in Tranquil Hart Highlands

A tranquil retreat in the Hart.

Neighbourhood: Escape the poor air quality, congestion, and crime of downtown Prince George to an acre next to nature. You will have peace with a dead-end street on one side, low traffic on the other, and quiet dogs. This is a high-class neighborhood with flawless roads for joggers and cyclists. The Prince George “Smell of Money” is minimal here; the Hart Highlands is elevated and any pulp mill fog and smell is drastically reduced and temporary. Be comfortable in a well-sealed home with hot water heating (not forced air), and additional inside doors to reduce internal circulation.

Area: A two minute drive away from the essentials like groceries, housewares, 7/11, Tim Hortons, McDonald’s, a bank, and a library. Downtown is a straight drive south on the 97, double-check your map for travel time and be sure you’re comfortable with it.

The front: A wall of trees giving exceptional privacy. Two-car garage, huge driveway, and loads of on-property parking.

The back: Have your morning tea on the back deck, facing the sunrise and looking across our back yard: A lawn that drops off into a forested valley with the mountains as our backdrop.

The house has an exercise bike, treadmill, and we can dust off an old weight machine and free weights.

Please note that our rental does not accept smokers/vapers (either inside or on the property!), for insurance reasons. We also don’t permit pets or parties; make guests rare, please. We are strictly an uncluttered, healthy, low noise, and low-smell environment. This household is calm, collected, and for reasonable adults.

$750/mo. (utilities included) plus half that as a damage deposit.

The owner of the house is deceased, leaving it in probate to two executors of the will. One came and looted, and has no need to return (and is not welcome); but she lives out of town. The other is in charge and keeps the master bedroom with its separate bathroom. The house will be sold one day, but that’s not currently legally possible and if it were listed it is estimated to be at least a year to find a buyer; you’ll be given prompt house status updates and timelines, nobody will be caught off guard by a sale. It’s possible new buyers would keep us renting.

• Your room is on the corner, facing west (sunset).
• The bathroom is beside, shared with two others.
• Very large unfurnished living areas, perfect for storage or a home office if you want to get serious (extra rent negotiable).
• Simple broad back deck facing east (sunrise).
• Decent kitchen and mini dining area.
• Large 2-car garage, 1 spot is spoken for. Lots of space for off-season tires. Outlet outside the front, e.g. for diesel vehicles. Two standing freezers if needed.
• Very large unfinished basement, probably best left unused.
• Totally separate two bedroom apartment downstairs, with a separate entry.
