Seeking: a reliable, quiet housemate who with a clear, direct communication style who is enthusiastic about sharing space with cats - two middle-aged tabby brothers who’ve recently come from difficult circumstances – and willing to help with cat care when I travel for short periods. Option for rent reduction in exchange for cat care over a longer period (months). Queer, trans, neurodivergent welcome. Over 40 preferred but open to a mature younger person. Someone who regularly works from home would be ideal. n.b. letting involves sharing bathroom & laundry w/landlord and is thus exempt from the Ontario Residential Tenancies Act. Offering: This is an unusual house share where you get your own equipped kitchen, living room and powderroom (as well as bedroom of course), but share a large bathroom and laundry room with the owner. The house is a 3-storey semi, my main living space is on the 1st floor but I work in an office on the 2nd floor. Your 3rd floor open-plan living/ work space has windows on 3 sides and walkout roof deck; kitchen w/ four-burner gas stove top, dishwasher, fridge/ freezer, microwave, electric kettle and toaster (No conventional oven); living room w/ large sofa, armchair, desk and adjustable chair; powder room (toilet and small sink); remote-controlled split unit (heating/ cooling) as an adjunct to the central healing/ cooling system. Your spacious bedroom is on the second floor, at the foot of stairs leading directly to your third-floor space, has a bay window overlooking the front garden, queen-size bed with good mattress, bedside table, wardrobe, and shelving unit. Shared 2nd- floor bathroom/ laundry room includes large tub, shower, washer and dryer and wall-mounted drying rack.

It’s a great location for walkers, cyclists, runners and swimmers, with many nearby amenities include the Martin Goodman trail along Lake Ontario, Sunnyside beach and large outdoor pool, and High Park. Many local public transit options: Queen, King, Dundas and College streetcars are all accessible by foot in under 10 minutes; the stop for the Lansdowne bus is less than 5 minutes away, and it will take you to the Lansdowne subway station (Bloor line) in another 5 minutes. I am the owner of the house, and a university professor in my mid-50s. I work at home in an office on the 2nd floor weekdays (approximately 8am-6pm), very occasionally on weekends. I am a friendly but self-contained person, kind and helpful in a neighbourly way, but I don’t have much energy for small talk. I travel occasionally for work, sometimes for longer periods (weeks or months).
