About the room
My name is Robin, I’m a semi-retired 61 year young gentleman and looking for a roommate.
I would prefer a lady roomie as I am a tidy and respectful person and experience tells me ladies are a little more responsible .
I am a renter with a lease. My landlords are ok with me having a roomie, but they do expect a sub-tenant to sign a form and I would require a $250 damage deposit.
Your rent will be $500/Mo. paid on the 1st of the month. Utilities will be shared with me paying 60% as I have the garage. in the past 9 months the hydro has averaged $80/Mo and the Gas has averaged $50 with water averaging $30/Mo. A total of $160/Mo, so your portion should never exceed $100 and likely no more than 60 - $80/Mo. I’m careful with the utilities and don’t have a large carbon footprint.
You’ll have your own room and private full bathroom downstairs. Your bathroom has the laundry which we’ll share, I only need to do laundry once a week so we’ll set up a day/time that doesn’t inconvenience you. Our shared kitchen is small but fully equipped. I like to cook and listen to music. I enjoy movies and sit in front of the tv when I eat. If you enjoy a good movie, series or comedy show, we’ll get along just fine. I laugh easily and try my best to be a pleasant person. : ) When I’m happy I sing & whistle.
I have an office downstairs and tend to be working for most of the day in the colder months. In the warm months I pretty much ‘live’ in the garage - my happy place. You’ll be more than welcome to set up a cozy chair in front of my spare computer/tv downstairs and call it your Livingroom when I’m not working. Otherwise the Livingroom upstairs is very cozy and it’s yours to share. I don’t expect (or want) you to feel that you have to hideout in your room - that’s not healthy. Besides I welcome another heartbeat in my home and would be happy to make another good friend!
We’ll share a huge back yard with a sweet fire-pit. I’m also a mechanic, so if you need a hand with your car - no problem, always here to help. Great neighbours too.
I’m tidy but not too uptight - I may leave dishes in the sink until the next morning, if you do the same, it’s not a big deal, as long as they get done in the morning, I’m cool.
You’ll have a parking spot in front, on the street, but we can share the one spot by the back door when unloading groceries, etc.
We’ll also have a big, beautiful back yard with a fire-pit and a large sunny deck c/w BBQ in the warmer months.
Sadly, we cannot have pets. I love cats especially but the landlords say no pets. You’re welcome to “adopt” some of the many birds and squirrels in the yard & deck!
I do not have ladies coming over so I have to ask that you don’t have gentlemen over either. This will be a comfortable and peaceful and safe place for us both.
..well, there it is. I welcome any questions and inquiries.
I look forward to a proper introduction. Robin
About the roomies
There are no current roomies. This home will be yours and mine to share. Most of the time (in the warmer months) I’m working in the garage and you’ll be free to sing and dance to your hearts content! lol I like to cook and am very organized in the kitchen - if you work like that too then we’ll have a blast!
