About the room
We’re offering a small, cozy, furnished loft bedroom (double mattress) in our family home located in a friendly and convenient part of South Rutland. Looking for a tenant who’s interested in staying a year or more. I’d consider someone who wanted to rent till end of July/August. Not really interested in short term renting, but for the right person, maybe. Depends on the move out date.
🏡 Our household is:
- LGBTQ+ friendly
- Introvert-friendly: everyone enjoys their own space. The kitchen seems to be the place for chats once in awhile.
- Community-minded: we sometimes share meals, garden, and support each other when needed.
- Respectful of different beliefs (religious, political, etc.) Our tenants describe the home as friendly, safe and peaceful. We ask for no drama, clear communication, mutual respect, and mental/emotional stability - what we offer, we hope to receive in return. ❤️ It’s very important to keep the good energy vibes in the home.

- Bathroom: Shared with other tenant who rents a room. Very clean. Tenants take turns cleaning it.
- Kitchen: Shared with the household. Very clean. Filtered water and ice machine available.
- Weekly chore chart in place-simple and fair; you’re never cleaning up after others, just common-use areas
- Coming soon: Access to small indoor full body gym (treadmill, weights & more).

- Less than 5 minutes by car to Costco and Superstore
- #8 Bus: ~15-minute walk, goes directly to UBCO
- #10 Bus: Heads downtown
- #11 & #14 Buses: 3-5 minute walk away
- Walking distance to shops, restaurants, and essential services (~10 minutes)
🐾 Pets & Visitors:
- No cats (sorry), but we’re open to other pets. A small dog would be ok.
- No overnight guests or frequent visitors at first. Once trust is built, we can revisit this. We just don’t want a ton more people coming and going. It’s a room rental not an apartment, if you know what I mean. 🙂

About the roomies
💬🙋🏻♀️🧔🏻♂️👧🏻🧒🏻 A Bit About Us: We’re kind, respectful live-in landlords with two kids (ages 6-11) and a history of great relationships with tenants (past and present references available). We maintain a clean, respectful, safe home and are looking for someone who values the same. We’ve been renting rooms for 18 years. Definitely know what we are doing and how to make the community household run smoothly.
We have two other roommates in the home who are students and very nice. I really do a good job picking people who will continue the good energy, respect everyone’s privacy, are clean and no drama.
