Private, furnished room for rent in fully furnished 2 bdrm suite - Available May 1, 2026. - I am rarely home so it’s like having the whole suite to yourself!

One (1) furnished, private room in a modern newer home (4 years old).

NOTE - Not suitable for more than one person.

Room is located on main floor of home. Suite has its own entrance with wireless electronic door lock. There are smoke detectors in all rooms and a carbon monoxide detector in suite. Suite has 10’ celings throughout, many windows, and is modern and bright.

Bedroom is furnished and has full sized closet, large screened window with cordless blinds, Queen sized bed, dresser, night table (with drawer), bedside lamp with USB charger, desk, chair, and a 42” flat screen TV mounted on wall with a Telus cable box (basic cable included). Bedding is included for bed.

There are engineered wood floors in room, suite, and tile throughout bathroom and entrance area.

I am looking for a CLEAN, QUIET, and RESPECTFUL roommate.

Cleanliness is a must!!! You must clean up and pick up after yourself. Non negotiable. Neat freaks more than welcome! 😊

Landlords live on upper floor.

Ideal for VIU student, or single, working professional.

10-13 min walk to Downtown Nanaimo, VIU, and Aquatic Centre (3 min drive).

Bowen Park, Disc Frisbee, and outdoor pool are a 1 minute walk away (1/2 block)

House is 1/2 block from three (3) major bus routes.

Shared bathroom - you have your own drawer and 1/2 cabinet space below. (see attached pictures). One set of towels (Bath, hand, and face) are provided. Shower curtain and shower mats are also included.

Fully equipped, shared Kitchen includes: Fridge/Freezer, Microwave, Toaster, Coffee Maker, Kettle, Dishwasher, Sink, Two burner induction stove top, large air fryer/convection oven (large enough to cook a turkey), and a kitchen Island. All dishes, pots, pans, cutlery, mugs, knife set, and glasses are supplied. (See attached picture)

Note: There is not a full size oven/stove in suite however convection oven is extra large.

Shared living room is furnished with couch, TV Stand, Coffee Table, New 42” Smart TV, XBox, Stereo, and Cable TV. Coffee table is a lift top and can be used to eat at. Acces to Netflix, Amazon Video, Apple TV, Telus+ TV, Discovery +,and a number of other streaming apps are available on smart TV as well as Telus basic cable and high speed wifi all included in rent.

There is a fold down table (attached to wall) and chairs to eat at and/or use as desk space). Table folds out of way when not in use (see attached picture). There is a coat closet in front entrance with a shoe rack.

An iRobot Roomba vacuum and stick vaccum are in suite to help keep clean as well as swifter and all necessary cleaning supplies.

Clothes washer and dryer are upstairs and available at no extra charge.

Suite is very secure. There is a wireless door lock that you get your own code for on main door to suite. Entire house has CCTV security covering all entrances and windows. There are motion activated lights all around house and two French Bulldogs upstairs who keeping the house very safe and secure.

If preferred, you can put a lock on your bedroom door for additional security (style to be approved by landlord).

It is a clean and bright space with large, screened windows in all rooms. All windows have cordless blinds for privacy.

High Speed (Telus PureFibre X 3.0 Gigabit) wireless Internet, basic cable, and utilities are included with rent. Utilities include garbage pickup, recycling pickup, water, electricity, heat, internet, and basic cable TV.

At their discretion, landlords may allow access and use of backyard including a fire pit with seating area and hot tub. Note: Permission from landlords for use of these will be required.

Absolutely No drugs, smoking,vaping or use of any combustibles in room, suite or on property.

No parties, excessive drinking, drugs, or excessive loud music/noise. Looking for a quiet, clean, and respectable roommate.

No pets! This includes fish/snake/lizard/rodent tanks, dogs, cats, etc. Sorry but this is non-negotiable.

Room is in a quiet family home in a quiet neighbourhood- ideal for student or working professional.

Note: I will only consider single applicant. Space is not large enough for couples or people with children.

Suite is shared with a 23 year old male who is clean, quiet, and respectful. I work in camp so am usually only home 5-10 days a month (I am rarely home even when I am back from camp as I visit friends and spend time with family on mainland when home.

Open communication and mutual respect are very important! My home is my safe place, and I don’t want any tension, resentment, or hostility to develop.

What Will be Required:

• Security/damage deposit (½ month’s rent)
• Signed roommate agreement
• References upon request
• Proof of income/ability to pay rent

You MUST love dogs!

Significantly reduced rent will be offered for those who can occasionally house/dog sit (two French bulldogs) upstairs. You would have access to upper house when sitting. It would be ideal if you like dogs, and have experience with them. Preference will be given to person interested in dog/house sitting arrangements.

Interested persons should PM with a description of yourself and current work/student status and reason for leaving current residence.

Landlord will be available to show suite immediately however it will not be available until May 1st, 2025

Current roommate is going home after completing school. She has offered to provide reference for her experience living here if required.
