About the room

1-unfurnished bedroom of 2-bedroom unit is available on the 5th floor. The room is private and requires key entry. It is north facing and the dimensions are 10 feet wide x 12 feet long. It does have blinds as shown in the pictures. It gets morning sun in the summer. The unit is available May 1, 2026 for $1200 per month. (Willing to negotiate within a limited range for the right person). The rest of the spaces are shared: washroom, kitchen, living room, and large balcony. The rent includes – utilities, unlimited internet, Rogers tv package with Disneyplus. Prime Video is available.
Shared fridge, stove, and microwave. Shared dishes, pots and pans etc. Open to sharing food or grocery items sometimes. Kitchen has a lot of cabinets and the fridge is large. AC will be available in the summer.
Washing and dryer machines are located in the building, and the machines are $2.75 per use. Parking is $160 per month. This is a great area, and the building is located next to a park and is next to Kay Gardner Beltline Trail. This walking and bike trail is over 4 km extending from Mount Pleasant Road in the east to the Allen Expressway in the west. The building is 5 minutes’ walk to Davisville Subway Station which is just one subway station south of Yonge and Eglinton. And the location is 20 minutes via subway from Bloor and Yonge. The location is walking distance to Sobey’s, convenience stores, and restaurants.
There is ample organized closet space. The balcony is large, user friendly with seating, and free of pigeons. And great for a sunrise or sunset view. In the summer, I guarantee there will be flowers, and hummingbirds visit on occasion. I have made some improvements in the apartment to ensure there are no creepy crawlies. 😊 In addition to pre-screening questions and conversation to ensure that the two of us are compatible, these items will be needed: work reference, employment verification letter, pay stubs and/or proof of ability to pay rent, personal references; and first & last month rent deposit.
This will suit one peaceful woman OR one peaceful man who is goal focused, considerate, clean, quiet, trustworthy, respectful, respectable, disciplined, and a mature thinking adult who communicates when needed. Sorry, no couples or adult with children. Limited overnight guests, and limited visitors preferred. In the shared spaces, cleaning up after use is mandatory and this includes the tub, bathroom sink, toilet, kitchen sink, stove, dishes, and pots. It is also mandatory that shoes be removed at the front door. Sorry no pets – small aquarium ok. There is an aquarium in the living room, however, the fish never come out. 😊 No drugs including cannabis. No smoking-non-smokers only. No parties. No intoxication preferred. No drama. Rent is expensive in Toronto and teaming up will provide the opportunity to save some $$$. There is lots of space in this unit and if you look for a decent bachelor you will pay $1400-1600 and up plus utilities. Here you will save a few hundred dollars by teaming up in a 2 bedroom.

About the roomies

I am a heterosexual black man. My motto is expressed in one of my favorite poems: Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.

Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.

Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.

And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy. by Max Ehrmann ©1927
