So, update time. I need a new place by October 31st!

Long story short, my current building has been sold to property developers who are pulling it down next year and they want the building as soon as possible.

A bit about me: I’m quiet (can be sociable too though), tidy and respectful of other people’s space and needs.

For reference, I am a full Canadian Permanent Resident, not on any kind of temporary visa. Originally from the UK and a UK citizen so you can rest assured in terms of background checks that I’ve already undergone a VERY intense and thorough one!

The work I do (live corporate events) requires some very early starts and occasional late finishes so I’m looking for a place that’s has good transit connections (Skytrain and Bus/Night Bus an absolute must!).

Preferred areas include near Grandview Woodland/Commercial Drive, Hastings Sunrise, Mount Pleasant, Main St, Joyce Collingwood (the West End would be nice because like most people, I love English Bay…)

I’m fine with a room in a house or an apartment (ideally not a basement though).

I don’t have much stuff so won’t be cluttering the place up. Needs to be a DOUBLE bed sized room though, not a screened off den or a closet with a single bed shoved in it!

I’m a musician/music teacher (bass player) but don’t worry, you’ll never hear it when I’m practicing or transcribing as I do it all on headphones and my laptop.

I’m a film and TV/Pop Culture nerd so it would be cool if you are too (I’m very useful in trivia rounds at pub quizes…)

I’m too old for the raging house party scene (got it all out of my system years back); just after somewhere quiet, respectable with respectful grown ups in a quiet neighbourhood, somewhere chilled to come home to after work.

I don’t drink, smoke or do drugs so I won’t be staggering back at 4am leaving the front door open or dragging randoms back because they have the drugs (true horror story about a previous housemate…)

If you have cats or dogs that’s fine with me 👍🏽 animals like me but if they’re white and fluffy that could be a problem as I wear all black for work!

I’m pretty handy from a technical perspective so if you have computer/AV issues I might be able to help.

Since I’m quite a big and imposing looking chap, I can be quite a good extra layer of home security 💪🏽 (I’m really a big teddy bear though)

I have a very specific diet (Keto/Carnivore) so I doubt we’ll be stealing each other’s food out the fridge when no-one’s looking!

If you’re a vegan/vegetarian type that might be an issue for you but even though i won’t be covering everything in the kitchen in bacon grease I fully understand if I’m not on your radar. I’m not much of a home cooking guy either so I definitely won’t be making a regular mess of things.

I hope to hear from some of you soon if you feel you have a place that would suit or you want to pool resources and find a place.
