My name is George!
A quick summary of myself, I’m 34, and am the middle to two sisters. I’m born and raised in Canada, having spent time in Ontario, BC, Alberta & New Brunswick.
I played baseball + soccer at Huntington University in Indiana for one year, then came home to study Journalism at Humber. I used to moonlight as a journalist (I actually worked at the Telegraph-Journal in Saint John), quit after a few years in the industry (got offered a dream job in Brandon, rejected it, so why stay in the industry?), worked at Microsoft, quit after a few months (money isn’t my North-pointing needle) and joined a startup in Canada 10 years ago called Prep Baseball Report.
I had the most fun of my life, from Intern to Director, I couldn’t put my gratitude into words. I quit in May, and have since decided I’d like to go back to school.
For work, I’m the Vice President of a high school baseball company, as well as an Elementary School Facilitator. I teach art classes at lunch hour in schools around Toronto to kids JK-6, in French.
I’m a homeowner in Grimsby, ON. I love to read, walk, golf, listen to music and live a generally peaceful life. I’m the one out there who loves people. Smoking & Drugs aren’t for me, and my drinking days ended one night in Wisconsin two years ago. I also adore the outdoors.
I have a 4-year-old charming mini Goldendoodle named Oakley — He’s a registered therapy dog (little man needs to pay for his poop bags, this economy… am I right?). I haven’t quite decided if he’ll join me immediately upon enrolment. In a perfect world he does, but the situation has to align. I’d also like to acclimate myself before acclimating him simultaneously with any roommates.
If you can imagine, I’m looking for the minimum standards. A safe neighbourhood & place to come home to, and generally kind individuals to live with. I don’t have a car, so no need for parking. I love to cook & will happily cook for others. Cleanliness & hygiene matter to me as much as manners do.
