Hi everyone! My name’s Josh — I’m a 18-year-old soon to be 19 from the UK heading to Canada this winter on a working holiday visa and I’m currently looking for housing in the Bow Valley for the 2025/26 season. Ideally, I’m hoping to find seasonal accommodation in Banff, Lake Louise, Canmore, or nearby, especially something shared with other resort staff or like-minded adventurers. I’ll be in the area for the full winter and I’ve already got my Working Holiday Visa approved (valid until May 2026), so I’m all set to start work. I’m applying to ski resorts and mountain lodges in the area and looking to work in guest services, food & beverage, or general operations. I’ve got strong hospitality and retail experience — I’ve worked in a busy kitchen and bar environment, spent a summer as a pizza chef serving customers and keeping up with fast-paced kitchen demands, and most recently worked at a surf/skate retail shop assisting customers, managing stock, and handling cash. I also spent time with a naval architecture firm, where I got hands-on experience in a professional, safety-conscious industrial environment — so I’m comfortable working hard, adapting to different roles, and being part of a team. Outside of work, I’m tidy, respectful, and easy-going. I love cooking (big into home meals for my friends and family), and I’ve been skiing annually since 2014 — confident on all slopes and excited to improve my snowboarding while in Canada too! I’m really motivated to get the most out of this experience and would be so grateful to connect with anyone offering a spare room, staff housing, or open to teaming up to find a place.
