About the roomies

I’m a creative, independent person with a love for art, literature, good coffee, gardening, and backcountry camping. I have a college and university education, majoring in English Literature and minoring in Philosophy and Cultural Studies, and spent 10 years living in China before returning to Canada just before COVID.

My home is a big part of who I am. I’ve done all the renovations and maintenance myself and built many of the custom furniture pieces throughout the house. I’m also a bit of a plant enthusiast, with over 100 houseplants turning my home into a bit of an indoor jungle!

I live alone in my own home and have a partner who also owns their home. I’m naturally tidy and respectful of other people’s space, but I’m also pretty easygoing and believe home should be somewhere you can feel comfortable and be yourself. My bedroom and home office are on the second floor, and I enjoy having my own routines while still being happy to chat and share the occasional coffee.

I also have a 12-year-old miniature schnauzer who’s a sweet, settled companion and perfectly happy snoozing in her own space upstairs when I’m out.

I’m hoping to find someone who’s a good fit for the house and enjoys a comfortable, well-kept living space. Beyond that, I’m happy for us to find our own rhythm as roommates, whether we’re occasionally catching up over coffee or mostly doing our own thing. A little mutual consideration goes a long way, and I think sharing a home should feel easy and natural for everyone.

I found the site to be clear of scams which is very much appreciated since there's so much garbage out there on the web.

Roomies is my #1 go to whenever I want to list a room for rent because I always have a better experience with them than any of the other sites out there.
